Ninja Warrior UK Review – Days Out Diaries
Written by our East Midlands Diaries reviewer - Kerry Lowe
We arrived at the HUGE site at about midday. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and great with the kids. They absolutely loved the bandanas etc! We were also please to find that lockers were provided free of charge to allow us to store all of our belongings before heading into the activity area. The course is split into two sections – the actual Ninja Warrior area and a large inflatable section…. and it really is massive! We did walk past the under 4’s section which isn’t very big (imagine a large bouncy castle) but I suppose would be good if visiting with smaller children whilst the bigger ones play.
So our first stop was the Ninja Warrior obstacle course! This is really well set out with varying difficulty levels, meaning that we could all have a really good go at becoming a Ninja Warrior! There are two separate Ninja walls, one perfect for smaller kids and then a bigger, adult one for the big kids! My son Bobby and my niece Lacey are only 4 years old and in fairness a lot of the ninja obstacles were a bit too big for them, so we soon moved over to the inflatable section of the park.
The inflatable section is fab! We split into family teams and set up our own challenges which was great fun, despite Bobby bursting into tears every 2 minutes because we kept losing! There’s an obstacle course around the outside of the inflatable section (which looks easy but is actually quite tiring when you’re a very unfit grown up!) along with a few slides and a jump. There’s also a duel section which I think my hubby and brother enjoyed even more than the children to be honest! Staff are on hand around the course keeping an eye on things – for example making sure only 1 child is on the jump section at any 1 time. There’s also a separate jump section with an air bag which again was well staffed.
Play time is managed by coloured wrist bands and our 1 hour play seemed to be over very quickly. As the site is so large – we never stopped (other than to catch our breath)! The kids were gutted and really didn’t want to leave…. Us adults on the other hand had realised how unbelievably unfit we all were and couldn’t wait to sit and have a drink! The café area which overlooks the park is really nice with a great selection of reasonably priced food – from healthy ‘ninja boxes’ through to hot food and snacks such as chocolate, crisps etc. Again the staff in the café we’re really friendly and helpful.
The park is very clean and well maintained; and there were three staff members actually manning different areas of the inflatable park the whole time that we were there. The podium/spinning area is actually controlled by a staff member too and is stopped and started to allow people to climb on and off safely. Overall we felt very safe and happy with the main park area.
I would 100% recommend Ninja Warrior UK for kids and adults alike. We absolutely loved our time here and have all agreed that we can’t wait to return, despite all of the aching muscles over the past few days. Wigan is almost 2 hours away from us but was definitely worth the drive, although if we do return, I think we will pay to add an extra hour onto our visit (possible to do even with the voucher), as the kids really weren’t ready to leave. We would also definitely make sure that we were ALL wearing sportswear (my daft husband had his jeans on!!). I’ll also make sure that I’m wearing grippy trainers…. As I’m sure that was the only reason for me not beating the wall!
