Wicksteed Park Review – Days Out Diaries

Written by our West Midlands Days Out Diaries reviewer - Katie Gray

Today my family and I drove down the M6 for a family day out at Wicksteed Park. The rides didn’t open until a little later from the usual time because it’s not peak season but this was perfect for us. Once we arrived, the kids were really excited for the day ahead.

We quickly got our wristbands without any hassle and the kids ran to the closest ride. There were no queues at all so we got straight on – this was amazing because like most kids, this lot aren’t the best at being patient. We ran from ride to ride but the highlight wasn't the rides, it was the Snakes and Ladders. This was so fun, it involved a really long wavy slide, you went down on a mat at speed and a treetop adventure.

Wicksteed Park is a huge place to explore, there’s tons of fun rides as well as a bird enclosure and meerkat tunnels that you can crawl through and get amongst the meerkats. The Crazy Golf was also included in the Planet Offers voucher and was a huge hit with the kids. There are also loads of places to eat, something for everyone and really good value for money.

When the rides closed at 4 the kids were still full of beans so we let them burn off some steam on the park. I think they could have spent a whole day there with huge climbing structures, slides and roundabouts. Overall it was a lovely day out with my family, the kids loved all the different activities and rides – we would definitely recommend a visit.
